As reported here in mid-July, the City of Myrtle Beach Police Department has made good on their promise to locate a substation along Ocean Boulevard. This expansion is amongst many moves that the City has made to increase law enforcement in the downtown area.
The station is located across from Second Avenue Pier at the intersection of 2nd Avenue North and Ocean Boulevard. As reported by the Sun News, the substation is “one of many moves” that the City of Myrtle Beach has made in order to deter crime in the downtown area. In addition, the article reports that the lease agreement negotiated by the City means no cost to taxpayers.
