On Wed., Oct. 23, 2024, from 2 to 4 p.m., the first-ever Community Partnership Program (CPP) training program will take place at the historic Myrtle Beach Train Depot and you won’t want to miss this free opportunity to create a stronger Myrtle Beach.
This unique training program is an exciting collaboration by the City of Myrtle Beach Neighborhood Services; the City of Myrtle Beach Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Office; the Myrtle Beach Police Crime Prevention Unit; and the Myrtle Beach Area Chamber of Commerce.
CPP is designed for anyone interested in contributing to the city’s well-being — whether you’re a resident, business owner or community leader.
Training Focus Areas:
The CPP training program provides participants with these three key focus areas:
Effective Communication and Collaboration: Participants will be trained to communicate services effectively and engage with service providers. This is crucial for offering collaborative assistance to those in need, whether they are residents or visitors.
Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED): A significant portion of the training will focus on CPTED principles, a strategy that emphasizes designing physical environments in ways that naturally reduce crime. By altering the design of public spaces, we can influence behavior and create safer neighborhoods.
Fostering a Safe and Welcoming Community: Beyond crime prevention, the program will delve into ways to keep Myrtle Beach safe by encouraging community members to watch out for each other, report suspicious activities, and foster open communication. This kind of cooperative spirit is essential in maintaining the friendly and secure environment that Myrtle Beach is known for.
This training is not just about learning new skills, it’s about building a network of individuals who are committed to the same goal … making Myrtle Beach a better place for everyone. Attendees will leave with practical tools and strategies to help those in need, prevent crime, and enhance the overall safety and cohesion of our community.
We look forward to seeing you there!
