Myrtle Beach Police Department Is Leading The Way
The beautiful strand of Myrtle Beach South Carolina has long been known as a safe and welcoming place to visit, live, or retire. And the safety of residents and visitors is a top priority.
With over 18 million visitors arriving each year, keeping everyone safe presents a unique challenge for local law enforcement. And the Myrtle Beach Police Department is leading the way with a firm commitment to public safety and progressive, innovative policing methods.
“This summer we’ve instituted an operational plan to enhance the safety and ensure everyone has a good time while they’re visiting the beach or along the boardwalk. By doing so, we’ve asked the assistance of law enforcement agencies from across the state of South Carolina to come and assist us. By doing so, you will see a large presence of law enforcement officers here within the city limits of Myrtle Beach,” says Lt. Joey Crosby of the MBPD.
This increased police presence is encouraging to both Myrtle Beach visitors and residents. Local government, businesses and residents are united in providing law enforcement the resources they need to effectively contain and prevent crime, while ensuring Myrtle Beach remains a family-friendly community.
“We welcome any and everyone here within the city limits of Myrtle Beach. But make no mistake about it, if you commit a criminal act, we will hold you accountable for those actions. And you will be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law,” added Crosby.
So whether you’re a permanent resident or just visiting Myrtle Beach, you can be certain that safety is and always will be a top priority.
